Why Become a S.A.F.E Certified Mentor?
Many people feel a deep passion to help struggling families but lack the training and structure to do so effectively. The S.A.F.E Certification Program bridges that gap by providing practical tools, mentorship frameworks, and real-world experience. As a S.A.F.E Certified Mentor, you will gain:
Practical Skills: Learn proven tools for communication, conflict management, mentoring, and family support.
Confidence to Serve: Develop clarity and confidence in responding to marital crises and family challenges.
Professional Credibility: Earn certification that demonstrates your preparation to support families and communities.
Hands-On Experience: Complete a practicum that allows you to apply what you learn in real mentoring situations.
Community Impact: Join a growing network of trained mentors who are strengthening families at the grassroots level.
Many of our graduates go on to become family life educators, receiving monthly stipends to provide relationship education programs in their communities.
The S.A.F.E Model
The S.A.F.E Academy training approach combines knowledge, mentorship, and real-world practice to prepare individuals for meaningful impact. Our model focuses on four pillars:
Self-Awareness: Developing personal insight, emotional intelligence, and healthy character as the foundation for mentoring others.
Applied Knowledge: Learning practical frameworks for marriage, parenting, communication, conflict resolution, and family dynamics.
Family Mentorship: Equipping mentors to walk alongside couples and families with wisdom, compassion, and appropriate boundaries.
Experiential Learning: Through the practicum, participants demonstrate mastery by applying their training in real-life mentoring contexts.
This model ensures that graduates are not only well-informed but also well-prepared to support families with competence and care.

• Graduates serve as family life educators, mentors, and advocates for family wellness
• Communities benefit from preventive education that reduces risks associated with domestic violence, child abuse, and family breakdown
Our long-term vision is to train thousands of mentors who will extend family life education across communities, nations, and generations.
What Makes S.A.F.E Different?
Many programs discuss relationships in theory. S.A.F.E goes further by preparing mentors to respond effectively to real-life family challenges. Our approach combines decades of experience, practical mentorship training, and community-based application.
Decades of Experience
The S.A.F.E curriculum is built on over 40 years of experience in family life education, mentoring, and relationship wellness. Our training integrates proven principles with practical tools that can be immediately applied in everyday situations.
Practical, Real-World Training
Our certification program focuses not only on what to know, but also on how to help. Participants learn practical frameworks for communication, conflict resolution, parenting support, and mentorship that can be applied in real family situations.
Practicum-Based Learning
Every participant completes a Practicum, demonstrating mastery of their training through practical application and presentation before a panel of professionals. This ensures graduates are prepared to mentor families with confidence and competence.
University Partnership
The S.A.F.E certification course is offered in partnership with University of the Pacific in Stockton, California through Bernard College. Participants who desire academic recognition may enroll for three university credits and receive an official university transcript and certificate.
Grassroots Community Impact
Our graduates do more than complete a course—they become part of a growing movement of family life educators and mentors serving communities locally and globally. Many graduates go on to deliver family life education programs, reaching individuals and families who otherwise may not have access to relationship education.
